Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a comprehensive and evidence-based approach that combines cognitive therapy with behavioral techniques. In addition to addressing cognitive processes, CBT emphasizes the role of behaviors and how they can contribute to psychological difficulties. Therapists work with patients to identify maladaptive thoughts and behaviors and develop strategies to replace them with more functional alternatives, by setting specific goals with patients, engaging in structured exercises and homework assignments, and teaching practical skills to manage emotions, and modify maladaptive behavior patterns.
